Have you ever been mentally transported in a way where you stop for just a moment and you realize how you are acting and feel a little bit embarrassed or self conscience? This is how I felt when I saw this wildly entertaining musical during pretty much most of it. I was sitting forward in my seat just beaming, and in some parts mouthing the words. I couldn't help myself. I remember the first time I realized how I must look to those around me. I thought, "Gee, if anyone is looking at me, which I doubt anyone is, they must think I'm a total doof." or people thought of this scenario, "Hm, that girl doesn't get out much!" I think my face was hurting at the end of the play because I was smiling so hard. I love this play. It is bar none, my favorite show. Better than the Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis. Now that is saying a lot. I adore those shows. The whole Jean Valjean thing with his adopted Cosette and then the honorable Javert and his duty, it's all so good and so noble, but I just can't get over how fabulous Wicked really is!!! It is the most entertaining thing I have ever seen. Go to New York and see it. It is worth every cent you spend to get there. And get good seats.
Okay, when we drove up Hollywood Blvd. and we saw this, my heart must have skipped a beat. I was so excited to see this again. I saw it for the first time with Brinley, Maryanne and Haylie a little over a year ago. The Los Angeles production closed it's doors on January 11th. :( Too bad because I would have liked to see it again the next time I came out.
Wicked is, let's just say... Wonderful!
At the end of Act I, Tom looked over at me and kind of laughed and goes, "WOW!" The kids loved it like crazy and wanted to listed to our CD in the car on our way back to the hotel. Madison who never wanted to see the play was blown away. Before the show started I thought to myself, just wait girlie, you are going to love it and be obsessed with it. I think I created another monster in her. Her latest ringtone is No Good Deed.

Elphaba, the wicked witch of the west, and Glinda, the good witch, share a moment of understanding. Notice the background. It is so fun to have some puzzle pieces put together that tie this story in with the Wizard of Oz! so Great!!!

Because I knew you, I have been changed for good....

Happy is what happens when your dreams come true...
Megan Hilty makes her part HILARIOUS, and she has a glorious voice.
Kiss me goodbye I'm defying gravity!
Eden Espinosa's interpretation blew us away. She was breathtaking.

Julie, you're a crack up. I enjoyed reading your review. What did Tom think by that "Wow" comment when he looked at you? "Wow, my wife is crazy?" or "Wow, she really is embarrassing me?" or "Wow, I see what she means, this show IS awesome?"
I love the family picture--you are BEAMING!! And I have to say ditto to seeing it in NY. The stage there is huge (makes you wonder how they are going to do it in Salt Lake this spring). But, wherever can, just see it!!
OK, Marci and I saw it about 3 1/2 weeks ago in NYC and sat on the 4th row! So fabulous. This was my second time, and I'm with you...it's my favorite!!!!
