So long Madison...

Madison left Wednesday for the Missionary Training Center. It was a happy day. She was excited to go to say the least. When I think of not seeing her for a year and a half it seems weird. She is my child, I shouldn't go that long without seeing her. But SHE is not a child. She is moving on in her life. She is spreading her wings. She is doing something she has always wanted to do. She is going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to New York. She will be in the upstate area where she will proselyte and have the occasion to work at a visitors center in the area of Palmyra. Why do the members of our church do this? Why would someone at that age give up that much time, put their schooling on hold, with no pay, to do something like this? Did someone make her do this?
For the one maybe two people who follow my blog it would mean so much to me if you clicked on this link to see the answers to these questions. If in the past you have thought we Mormons are weird, crazy, or brainwashed, reading this may give you a different idea. We are just regular people (for the most part) who love the gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share it with others, that's all.

One last pose with Miss Madison.

The night before she left we celebrated her grandfather's 80th birthday.

Madison and Brooke, best cousins.

Madison and her Opa

These kids look up to her so much.

Goodbye for now. Work hard and always know we love you so much and are very happy for you. God bless.

I just told Rex that Madison went into the MTC - he was shocked. Time just flies by doesn't it?! Congrats on having a daughter serving a mission.

I love the picture of her walking into the MTC with those cute boy missionaries carrying her stuff! She will be missed, but she will never regret her decision to go. It will change her life. I hope you're ready for the blessings to come pouring your way! I hear that happens....

What a beautiful niece, inside and out. I look forward to her success as a missionary, a representative of Jesus Christ, for the next 18 months. Wow. That's big. Hugs and kisses from Aunt Kelly
