new hair cut/Tom in the dog house/Thomas jumps/Thomas advances in rank

Last week I buzzed off Thomas's hair and per his request, I left a little tail in the back. Tom didn't like it and asked me to cut it off. I asked him if we could just leave it for one day. I also asked him to please not cut it himself. (he has a past of cutting off tails and leaving bald spots behind) I promised I would cut it the next day. The next day rolled by and as I was making dinner, Thomas came up to me and said, "Mommy, look" What you see in the picture above, is what I saw. I came unglued, unplugged, unleashed. In front of all the children, I let my dear sweet husband HAVE IT. "Why did you do that!!! Why didn't you ask me to do it!!!!? I asked you twice not to do it yourself!!!! So do you want ME to start pulling the kid's teeth now!?" After being defensive for a while he sheepishly told me he was trying to do a good job, but kind of messed up. After he did it he said knew he was in trouble. Once he told me that, I cooled off a LOT and actually laughed. You gotta love men. I forgave Tom, and Thomas is still cute. So I wanted to take some pictures of him after the hack job, here he is:
He didn't seem to be too sad about the whole ordeal.

Our grass is a lot greener this week.

Don't you think we have the most beautiful view in the world outside our back door?

Thanks, John and Maryanne for letting Thomas use your trampoline on a daily basis.

Thomas advanced to yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do last week. Just click on the picture above and you will see the pure joy he had on his face once he was handed his new belt. Way to go little T.!

A few days after Thomas's advancement, a couple of the guys at taekwondo asked me if Thomas is really that smiley and cheerful all the time. They could barely believe that he constantly has a huge grin on his face. He's the cutest!

Ha ha, "do you want me to start pulling the kids' teeth now"? That's funny. Maybe he'll let you try a root canal too sometime. And yes, Thomas is cute, all your kids are cute.

That was the perfect comeback for Tom, hacking away at Thomas' hair. I could relate to his comment of knowing that the moment he realized the error of his ways, he'd had it. Thomas looks so cute in all the pictures. What a character he is.

Yes, you do have a very lovely backyard view with the snow capped mountains, although it makes me cold looking at it.

When I was talking about the perfect comeback, I was referring to what you said to him about the teeth. I didn't make that very clear.

Oh my COW! When you told me Tom hacked his hair, you were serious!! That is one hack-job if I've ever seen one. Glad that Tom came to his senses and saw the err of his ways :o) And you did a good job "fixing" the hole. You can't even tell it was there. Thank heavens!

Sweet tramp moves Thomas! Our boys would be so bored without the tramp.

I didn't realize how acrobatic Thomas was on the trampoline. He did a perfect toe touch!! He definitely is the shy one in the VDB family. I miss his curls but he sure is handsome with the new cut. Way to go Tom, military man!!!! Julie he was trying to do the High and Tight Cut! OOPS
