Nathaniel was honored on Tuesday night at the city council meeting along with two others for the Choice Award for April. Our city does this monthly to recognized achievement among teachers and students. This was a huge honor for Nathaniel as only 4 students from his entire school get chosen out of the year.
Pictured below is the Mayor presenting Nathaniel to the city council and audience.
This is what the mayor read aloud to the Council: "Nathaniel is a 9th grader at _____and has represented the SOAR Team (Students Opinions are Respected) since he was in seventh grade. It is an academic team that meets with parents, teachers and other student team members developing a school improvement plan. He also spearheads the Words of Wisdom, delivering them to the student body every Friday and prepares the "Respect" awards program weekly. Nathaniel is a constant at ____school. He is bright, articulate and involved in what is happening at his school. He is also musically talented and very service oriented. Nathaniel is an evident hard worker who has a dedication toward maintaining a 4.0 GPA."
(hmm, it should say, "dedication in trying to get a 4.0")
The principle of the jr. high and the mayor pose with the 3 recipients of the Riverton City Choice Award for April. A photo like this will be in our next Riverton City news letter. Way to go Nathaniel! Dad and I love you so much and are so proud of you.
