Nathaniel plays the bassoon in the Oquirrh Hills Middle School Symphonic band. He loves it and wants to keep playing through high school. He was asked to be in the Saxophone Quartet this year and agreed to do that as well. He played the Sax in 7th grade and I guess his teacher thinks he can still play it! Nathaniel said he was so embarrassed during the quartet because one of his keys got stuck and so he said he only played about 3 notes the entire song! It sounded good to me, but what do I know. They played the Adams Family theme song. It was a riot!
His bassoon playing was awesome though. We had front row seats and his horn was pointing at us, so we heard every note. He did a great job. I think he wants to practice his Sax a bit more now for future quartet performances. Some kids from school asked him to play the saxophone for a little garage band they put together and he told them he'd rather do keyboards since that is his forte. (he has played piano for almost 7 years now) So he came home with the music for "Carry on My Wayward Son", boy is that a blast from the past. He plays that really well.

Nathaniel is a superb pianist. I enjoyed hearing his ragtime tunes when I was there. I could listen to that for hours! Keep up the great work, Nathaniel. I'm impressed that he plays three instruments.
Nathaniel's one of those perfect kids that you would hate but can't because he's so nice! He can play 3 instruments, he's a total brain, he is a sweetheart when he wants to be, and good lookin' to boot. I lorve Sano!
