Every year now for the past 4 years, I think, Morgan has made stroopwafels, a little dutch treat she is in love with. She must remember the taste from years long past when we would walk down Kamperfoeliestraat and turn a block later to the market where we could find these sweet and gooey treats.
I have never made them. Morgan won't let me. This is her deal. Her tradition.
And they are so delicious.
She has the process down to a science.
She knows that the wafel must be cut immediately after cooking and the stroop needs to be added after the wafel has cooled.
This is the first year she has made the small size.
Her ipod was tuned into David Archuletta while she crafted her treats.
Nathaniel had a hard time resisting the urge to eat them all, but she did manage to get 96 wrapped up for the Christmas party tonight.
If anyone is interested in having the recipe, here is a link to the recipe.
