Thanksgiving

I just noticed when loading this picture that Thomas put the silver ware in the wrong place.  I'm too lazy to do anything better than what you see here.  But the food was awesome!!!

I asked Tom to take this picture because the only pictures that ever get taken with me in them are if I ask for it to happen.  I wanted people to see my new hair cut that I despise, and to show that I did make a sweet potato casserole.  I hate sweet potatoes, but was determined to make some that I could stomach.  It turned out pretty good!  No marshmallows on top for me.

Tom made the most delicious and moist turkey.  He brined it and used a recipe he got right off the packaging for the turkey.  It had thyme, garlic and some other yummy spices.  He cooked it on our grill, which I appreciated because it freed up my oven for other stuff, ie: homemade rolls.

A close up of the turkey sliced.  It looks pink but that is what our smoker grill does to the meat.  My mom was watching Tom cut it up and asked if it was done.  He uses a thermometer, so we knew it would be safe.  It was so good.

The peas were cold by the time everything was on the table and I stopped taking pictures.

Brinley made the pecan pie, which she wouldn't even taste.  Where do my children come from?  I grew up pigging out on pecan pie.

We had such a nice, quiet day with my mom and step dad over for Thanksgiving.  We watched Wall*E after dinner.  It was a really cute movie.

Julie, your hair cut looks adorable. Your Thanksgiving table looks pretty, I love the beaded napkin rings, they add pizzazz. Morgan's hair looks long and pretty. Brinley's is short and sassy and perfectly suits her cute face. Tom, carving the grilled, smoked turkey, looks in his element, and very hungry (and also handsome), Nathaniel and the dog looks feisty. I'm glad Mom and Joe were able to join the family on Thanksgiving. Sounds very nice. Your rolls looks so impressive too. Wow...wish I could have been there.

Yeah, Mom, I agree with Aunt Kelly. I think your hair looks great. Don't worry about it.

I can't wait to post pictures of my Thanksgiving. It wasn't quite as refined as the fam's, but still festive. TWO WEEKS!! Aww yeaaaaaaahhhhhhh.

Dinner looks scrumptious! (Although I must say that your rolls look a little bit, well, flour-y. But I'm sure they were still good.) *tee hee*

Don't worry about your hair! I was noticing it at choir yesterday and thought it looked really cute. I like the way you had it styled!
